What You’ll Get to Do:

Analyzes financial status by collecting, monitoring, and studying data; recommending actions.

Serves as a senior financial systems analyst and project leader responsible for major segments of broad financial management projects and studies relating to planning, developing, implementing and evaluating financial management and accounting policies, systems, processes, methods, and procedures agency-wide, to enable and insure the timely and effective collection and delivery of financial information to all program and financial customers.

Typical Assignments

  • Provide overall management and direction of financial management programs.

  • Responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and coordinating a comprehensive financial management program characterized by maximum delegation of authority.

  • Establish unique operating policies and procedures and ensure that a proper balance of economy and efficiency are maintained in the execution of programs.

  • Identify, consider and resolve a variety of financial and/or budget-related policy issues, questions and problems related to the agency financial management program.

  • Provide financial advice and perform financial assistance work for internal agency operating programs.

  • Perform budget work for internal operating programs in support of all phases or systems in budget administration including the formulation, presentation and execution of a budget.

  • Perform detailed analyses and estimates of annual funding needs for one or more future budget years.

  • Analyze and evaluate the effects of program plans and budget issues.

  • Communicate with colleagues, agency management and other contacts outside the agency to gather, analyze, and compile financial data to provide financial advisory services and to convey financial information in a variety of written forms such as cost and budget reports. Works with computer systems, program and software typically used in the financial field.

  • Perform budget work for internal operating programs in support of all phases or systems in budget administration including the formulation, presentation and execution of a budget.

  • Perform detailed analyses and estimates of annual funding needs for one or more future budget years.
