What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Monitoring the integration, scope, schedule, cost, quality, human resources, communication, and procurement activities of information system projects.

  • Serving as a project management subject matter expert by providing guidance and direction to project teams, including coordination of all activities of contractors, vendors and other participants for assigned projects.

  • Directing, managing, and supervising the work of Project Managers and project teams and are ultimately accountable for these projects.

  • Managing multiple complex integrated IT projects including planning, monitoring, testing, and supporting a series of complex enterprise-wide IT systems related projects to deliver capabilities to meet business value objectives within cost, schedule, and cost parameters.

  • Using structured project management tools and other techniques to implement iterative, agile, waterfall or similar information technology life-cycle methodologies.

  • Presenting complex and strategic issues to senior leaders in IT Services with a clear view to integrating IT programs with other programs of equivalent scope and complexity through applying or adapting new IT theories, concepts, principles, standards, methods, or practices.

  • Managing the technical aspects of the IT project portfolio to identify and track dependencies and to identify and implement repeatable processes and reusable components among projects.

  • Working closely with Information Services management on issues related to policy and IT budget and acquisition.

  • Serving in supervisory capacity and providing oversight of contract personnel performing work within the agency.

  • Performing a wide variety of mid-level duties connected to management, coordination and execution of critical development activities.

  • Leading and managing a project team to successful achievement of project goals. This includes identifying problems, determining accuracy and relevance of information, and using sound judgment.

  • Directing and providing management support with infrastructure support, network and computer operations, computer services resources, planning, logistics, and administrative operations.

  • Assessing policy needs and developing policies to govern IT activities.

  • Analyzing complex information to allow technically sound IT investment decisions that map to strategic planning.

  • Executing long and short range planning to include project selection, cost/risk/quality management.


You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in a project management or similar organization

  • Direct or indirect Federal Government experience

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, mathematics, management information systems, or field of study related to IT or cyber security

  • Master’s Degree in Information Technology or MBA

  • Candidate must be able to successfully complete a Federal background investigation


Additional/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lead and manage those within the team, including engineers

  • A working knowledge of the following areas of technical expertise: information policy formulation, information security management, business risk management, IT risk assessment and management, IT continuity management, IT governance formulation, and organizational change management, IT financial management and IT audit

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification

  • CompTIA Net+, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), or EC-Council Certified Incident Handler (ECIH) Certification
