Microsoft Cloud Migration Engineer

Hill Associates is looking for a Microsoft Cloud Migration Engineer to join our team, initially to support roll out of MS Teams then move onto support other Agency wide projects. This cloud engineer must be competent to work on highly complex assignments and perform a full range of technical support activities.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Assess, deploy, and test Microsoft’s new Teams collaboration platform.

  • Enhance, optimize, administer, support, and monitor our cloud hosting infrastructure, leveraging virtualization, automation, and orchestration technologies.

  • Contribute to the architectural design, analysis and implementation.

  • Provision and maintain virtual servers, virtual desktops, SaaS applications, and other infrastructure and compute resources based on customer requirements

  • Provide day to day support of client networks, servers, storage, and overall infrastructure.

  • Maintain our clients’ IT infrastructure both remotely and at customer site(s) when needed.

  • Help architect and implement a wide range of IT projects, such as high-availability, and virtualization.

  • Work closely with Managers, Service Coordinators, and other engineers to meet customer service-level commitments, and provide world-class customer service.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve network and system issues, remote or on premise as needed.

  • Positively and professionally represent the face of the company with our clients.

  • Other duties supported will include reviewing and assessing emerging technologies, writing summary reports, communication plans, peer- and user-training materials, and providing escalation points of support for Operations.

 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 10+ years working in a IT consulting/project based environment

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in designing and managing multi-tenant cloud environments.

  • Experience with deploying and managing virtualization technologies, including those from Microsoft Windows and Linux.

  • Strong experience with Windows and Active Directory.

  • Strong experience with protecting and securing cloud-based/multi-tenant infrastructure.

  • Knowledge of any of the following NIST security related standards: 800-53 Rev4, 800-171 and 800-161

  • Experience with Office 365 migrations and administration, O365 services, and Azure VMs is a plus.

  • Experience with Microsoft Teams product.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of strong implementation/support experience related to A/V and Client Management platforms

  • A comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of computing processes and technology including, servers, gateways, communications equipment, workstations, software and hardware and associated diagnostics and tools.
