Senior Information Technology Engineer

Hill Associates is searching for a highly skilled  Senior Information Technology Engineer  to join our dynamic team in Washington, DC. As a  Senior Information Technology Engineer , you will have responsibility for analysis, design, development, deployment for enterprise technologies and solutions; ensure technology platforms being developed comply with enterprise technical architecture; help project and program teams prepare for project management control gates; and keep senior management approved of project or program status .  This position works along a specialized team of internal high level subject matter experts who develop emerging technologies and influence strategic decisions regarding the technical direction of the business.

What You’ll Get to Do:

The Information Technology Support Engineer is a trusted advisor to fellow IT Professionals, using their superior technical skills to solve high level complex problems, involving broad, in-depth enterprise technology and solutions knowledge. Frequently, these problems will not only be technically complex, but will also require a customer-oriented mindset. The enterprise technology platforms we support are both on premise and in the cloud. Cloud has many new services in it and is determining better ways to support the mission. We deliver technical support for broad range technology such as computing, storage, databases, analytics and case management. The environment is currently leveraging vendor technologies from Cisco, Microsoft, VMware.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in technical project management

  • Direct or indirect Federal Government experience

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, mathematics, management information systems, or field of study related to IT or cyber security

  • Secret security clearance with ability to obtain higher-level clearance

  • Candidate must be able to successfully complete Federal background investigation

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in enterprise integration and designing and developing innovative solutions.

  • Experience in preparing technical specifications and requirements.

  • Experience in identifying and evaluating architectural or design inefficiencies and recommending optimal solutions.

  • Experience in participating in the development process throughout the IT lifecycle.

  • Experience in reviewing proposed designs at key milestones and making recommendations as needed.

  • Experience in ensuring the completeness of the technical solution.

  • Experience in formulating documents for technical requirements.

  • Experience in creating prototypes and leading initial development and testing.

  • Experience in the design, implementation, management and / or maintenance with one or several of the leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

  • Strong passion to learn and desire to learn new technology.

  • Strong communication skills to understand customers’ problems accurately and to articulate our solutions.

  • Strong skills for collecting data, understanding it, talking / negotiating with global stakeholders.

  • Technical skill for web applications or products.

  • Certifications of MS products (MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCITP).

  • Certifications of other CRM products or database related products (eg, Dynamics, SalesForce)

  • Technical knowledge of server OS.

  • Experience working in cloud or hyperconverged environments.

  • Experience with system design and troubleshooting Active Directory

  • Knowledge of TCP / IP protocol (v4 / v6), SMB, H.323, HTML, HTTP.

  • Knowledge of security related products, security system monitoring, and operations.
